4th aerostatic Memorial Trophy Vincenzo Lunardi “Air show”

19^th/21^st and 26^th/28^th September 2008

It will take place as well as this year during the two consecutive week-ends of 19th – 21st September and 26th - 28th September 2008. It will take a part of the Air Show “Fly Air Events” of Capannori, organized by Capannori’s Municipality and managed by Aereo Club Carlo del Prete of Lucca. The event will include, besides aereostatic fly, parachuting, model aircraft flying, gliding and motor gliding.

These aeronautics activities will take place at the Tassignano Airport. It will become a real “AIR CITADEL” where, during the week-end before the beginning of the “4th Aerostatic Trophy Vincenzo Lunardi 2008” it will take place a trial of the Italian Acrobatic Glider Campionship on 12th – 14th September 2008.
The spectacular “AIR SHOW” will take place over the Tassignano Airport, on 28th September 2008.

• Location/place: CAPANNORI (Lucca) – Lucca/Tassignano Airport

(43°49’39” N – 10°34’43” E)

• Dates: 19th, 20th, 21st and 26th, 27th, 28th September 2008
• Admitted balloons: Hot air Balloons – FAI Class AX 7/10
• Admitted pilots will have to possess valid balloon pilot’s licence ongoing, obtained at least a year ahead.

The participation of “sponsored” balloons, that is, bringing own brands inside the wrapping or sticked on the balloons with publicity banners, is subordinated to the Organizational Commitee’s explicit approval. (The application form’s acceptance is, anyway, subordinated to the Organizational Commitee’s explicit approval, after checking the the necessary requirements).

Capannori’s Municipality will offer to the participant pilots:

• Accomodation: (board and lodging) Capannori’s Municipality will offer accomodation for 4 persons at the most for every crew: from the evening of 19th September until the breakfast of 22nd September and from the evening of 26th September until the breakfast of 29th September. The partecipating pilots to the “4th AEROSTATIC TROPHY VINCENZO LUNARDI” can choice and take part just one week-end or both.

IMPORTANT: If the crew decides to partecipate to both week-ends and to stop in Capannori on holiday during the interval between the two week-ends (22nd,23rd,24th,25th September 2008), it has to deal with payment personally, but for this special occasion it will be the chance to accomodate with cheap rates in agreed hotels or farms in Capannori’s countryside.

During the days 22nd-25th September, or rather during the interval between the two events, the crew will have the opportunity to attend to GUIDED TOURS to discover the local attractions.

(N.B.every person in addition to the crew will have to deal with payment personally).

• Board: During the week-ends the crews could take free lunches at Capannori’s Municipality canteen. Every person in addition to the crew can have lunch in the same place with cheap rates.The Cannori’s Municipality will offer the dinners of Friday, Saturday and Sunday at typical restaurants of the area.

(The crews and every person in addition during the interval between the two week-ends (22nd,23rd,24th,25th September 2008) will have the chance to have lunch at Capannori’s Municipality canteen).

• Gas: From Friday’s afternoom the gas refuelling is free and it is guaranteed as the following ways: after every flight the crews will let the empty bottles to the person in charge. The bottles full of gas will be give back before the following take off.
• Geographic maps: of competition area.
• The winner cup: to the winner of the competition, cups and medals to the pilots came out first, second and third.
• Gifts and/or local products to participating pilots.

The staff will give the program of both week-ends to the crews. The program will contain the GPS cordinates, important to reach the places where the event will take place.

In short the general program is:

Friday 19th and Friday 26th September 2008:

• From 2.00 pm to 6.00 pm at Tassignano Airport (Capannori) – pilots registration and documents check;
• 6.30 pm at Tassgnano Airport (Capannori) – Aerostatic Trophy’s Official Presentation;
• 9.30 pm at Tassignano Airport (Capannori) – Night Glow.

Saturday 20th and Saturday 27th September 2008

• 6.45 am at Tassignano Airport (Capannori) – briefing and first take-off;
• 5.00 pm at Tassignano Airport (Capannori) – briefing and second take-off.

Sunday 21st and Sunday 28th September 2008

• 6.45 am at Tassignano Airport (Capannori) – briefing and third take-off;
• From 4.00 pm to 7.00 pm at one of the villas of Capannori – tethered flight;
• 9.00 pm in a local restaurant – dinner and prize-giving.

Tethered flights
They will take place in the parks of some historical villas of Capannori to let the spectators admire the balloons in a charming atmosphere. At the same time the spectators will have the chance to board the balloons for a short tethered flight.
The Organizational Commitee will make a contribution of Euro 500,00 to the pilots supporting this event (N.B. Euro 500,00 VAT or withholding tax included) in addition to the gas and the total necessary assistance. (In this way, if you will decide to partecipate to this event: remember to carry the ropes with you to Capannori, please!).

The Organizational Commitee will reserve the right to choose the available pilots and the number of them to take apart to the above-said exhibitions. All that depends on the concrete needs (Historical Villas supporting the events, available spaces for the tethered fligth etc…).

The general program could be modified and the Organization will comunicate the alterations to the crews.

N.B. For organizational reasons the limit fixed is: 20 partecipant balloons and the respectives crews for the first period (19th, 20th,21st September 2008) and for the second period (26th, 27th,28th September).
We have to inform you that we will accept just only the first 20 pilots’ registrations filled up in every singole part. If the competitors’ number is higher, other registration requests will be valued to increase the number of participant balloons. The organization will confirm the registrations directly to the interested persons.
